I started Bold Black Apparel because I felt like a lot of Black culture t-shirts were missing something.
Some designs looked like they were trying to be loud just for the sake of being loud. Too many words, too many colors, too much going on, and somehow still not powerful. I wanted to make shirts that felt BOLD in a cleaner way. Designs with a strong idea, better composition, and enough restraint to actually be wearable.
I have always been drawn to the parts of our culture that carry memory. Black history, old music, spirituality, family sayings, and inside references. That is the kind of feeling I try to build around.
Every design is not meant to be loud. Some are simple, while others are more direct, but each one is connected to something meaningful. The point is for every shirt to have a clear reason for existing.
I hope that every time you wear a Bold Black Apparel tee, you feel a sense of pride in who you are and how far we've come together.
I am honored to be a part of your story and thank you for being part of ours.
