Lonnie Johnson is an African American engineer and inventor best known for creating the Super Soaker, one of the most successful toys in history, originally developed from a high-powered water propulsion system.

Before its release in 1990, Johnson worked as a NASA engineer on projects like the Galileo mission to Jupiter, combining scientific expertise with creativity to turn a lab discovery into a global product.
